About Us

Immanuel is a small, rural congregation in Southeast Missouri. We are one of 6,100 congregations who are members of the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod. This national denomination of 2.5 million in the United States is dedicated to sharing Jesus Christ with the world.

God has revealed Himself to us as Father, Son and Holy Spirit. The mystery of the Holy Trinity is that God is three Persons yet only one God.

We believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and Savior of the world. People are saved by God’s grace through faith in Jesus Christ which the Holy Spirit gives as a free gift through the Word of God and the Sacraments.

The Holy Scriptures are the inspired, inerrant Word of God and the only source for faith and life. We believe the Lutheran Confessions are a correct exposition of that Word of God.

As members of Immanuel we serve our Lord in a number of ways through various groups in the congregation:

- Sunday School and Bible Class
- Confirmation Instruction
- Lutheran Women’s Missionary League
- Fellowship Club
- Youth Group
- Evangelism Committee

We support mission work through our Lutheran Church Missouri Synod as well as locally through the Bootheel Mission Project of Missouri.
